Headlights

The Supra headlights are deffo one of the cars worst features.. I cant seem to make them shine more than 30ft infront of the car.. and when you're driving over 60 it can get scary not being able to see wtf is on the road. I had a Honda Accord sport to play with on Monday and the lights on that could shine about 200ft up the road easy, shame it felt totally gutless compared to the Supra.

Hehe Ive tried fiddling with that switch, and its on 0 atm I think, which is most forward (i think) when i put em to 3 they just hit about 15ft infront.. shite :/

DO you think I can get them adjusted manually to point a little higher?

I wouldn't know to be honest, but it does sound a bit odd that they point that far down, whens you MOT due? They can pick up if there is a problem since they check the level of the headlight.

I think my lights are great, so much better than my old Cav and I had uprated bulbs in that.

Only thing ive noticed is that them seem to flicker, as if they arent bolted down solid and have a little room to vibrate, anyone else have that?

M.O.T's due in Janurary iirc. Maybe im being picky, I just like to see a long way up the road.. its great with the full beams on, but poor in comparison with the normal headlights.

Well, if thats the case, go for it, get the HIDs, I always like as much light on the raod as possible, but I don't do much night-driving anymore, especially in the Supes.

Even so, I have been tempted to get a decent pair of driving lights, but there isn't any really good places to mount them, since I don't really like stick-on stuff, it's got to look right. :)

Yeah one are a little more slittier (is that a word?) whereas the others are slightly rounder.

When I got my Jap MKIV the lights were really bad could not see very far. Took it to my local friendly MOT guy, who checked them out. They had been set at the lowest level possible for MOT, he recons they were set like that for SVA. He turned them up to the upper limit for MOT. There are fine now, I even get flashed from time to time.

Has anyone actually FITTED the UK bulbs in the Jap' holders ? ?

The dip & main bulbs look almost the same except the 3

locating tags at the base are slightly different widths and one

(can't remember which) has little humps on the tags.

Look EASY to alter, BUT, will the beam be the same. ? ?

or are they different bulbs for a reason ? ?

steve.

[ IF they will fit/can be used you can get slightly higher wattage

bulbs:

HB3 12V 100W

HB4 12V 70W ]

(I had 100/55's in my RS, with 100 spots - no problem with wiring/fuses/relays

and 400 WATTS on high beam !

though revs did dip a little if you were idling at the time - well.... a lot really !)
