Robert
but there are two (thanks H) so you are clearly wrong! Don't get me wrong... I have great sympathy for him or anyone else at the top of their game which will now lead them to enduring a rehabilitaiton programme that will be a monotonous and painful experience. However, compared to the majority of others who rehabilitate through sports injuries or other cause related injuries at least the noise of the £20K per week hitting his wallet will seek to deaden the pain. Out of all this I think the lesson to be learnt is by the shin pad manufacturers. If the function of them is to spread the impact across their whole which clearly didn't happen in this case then time for a review. Surely they should be more technically advanced nowadays? i dont mind H's opinion or yours, the only thing i don't agree with is the fact you seem not the think that tackle warranted a red card. If a high tackle and leaves a player out for at least 6 months isn't a red card offence, what would be? I wonder if Ronaldo or Rooney got a tackle like this what people would say. colsoop
It was a high tackle with studs showing, regardless of malice or intent the poor fella who was on the receiving end is seriously injured and may never play football again ! He deserves a ban.
MaveriK
its was a horrific injury but not a bad challenge, far worse goes on unpunished. Not a single pro or pundit has come out and said so other than Whinger who then retracted it. And the what if it was Rooney or Ronaldo means nothing, what if it was the queen, the archbishop or my cat. At least the ball was in the picture when the tackle went in unlike Gallas when he kicked Nani, that was a far worse offense and yet that and the other tackles by Arsenal went unpunished. Mr Whinger should sort his own house out before running his mouth off.

MaveriK
The tackle yesterday was for a contested ball, your player was too quick and their player was already commited to the challenge. Gallas kicked Nani, no tackle, no ball and no excuse. Worst tackles i have seen, Keano on whatshischops, Gerrard on Boeteng where his knee bent the wrong way but somehow did not break, Alan Smith when he played for England and took a guy out round the waist off the pitch. Havard
I think some of you guys need to think this through. As Eduardo nicks the ball to his right he is travelling at a fair old pace. Where the ball was when Martin Taylor decides to go for it is in a particular spot. As Eduardo nicks it his foot makes contact with the floor probably a foot to 18"'s further forward than where the ball originally was. Therefore Taylors foot impacts higher up this shin than anyone would have liked. You seem to forget the speed at which this all takes place, in that moment no-one has control of what is going to happen. Slow motions and pictures just make it look worse IMO!! In history there have been certain challenges where the ball has gone and then a split second and then a dirty challenge. It is those that should carry season/life bans as they are cinical and malicious..... Roy Keane/Alf Inge Haaland is one that springs to mind. Also Marc Bosnich/Jurgen Klinsmann is another! H. CJ
... Roy Keane/Alf Inge Haaland is one that springs to mind. H. That wasn't a football challenge. It was a premeditated assault:(
MaveriK
Agreed but its a bit rich coming from a Leeds fan!

That's the view of a manker (check spelling) - had it been upon Rooney for instance, then ManUtd TV (sorry, Sky TV) would be replaying the incident on every goddamn news bulletin on the hour every hour, until Martin Taylor was locked away After all its only Eduardo, a johnny foreigner, who gives a damn! SUPRASUZUKI
I'm surprised he'll only be in plaster for 6 to 8 weeks. Seems a short time for such a bad injury.

Not at all.... I gave a damn when poor old Eric slipped and accidently kicked that loyal supporter in the chest. Now there was a tackle that was about 18inches too low Seriously though.. HAd that tackle been on one of ManU's star player, you are probably right.. I'd want Taylor hung. And that's because when I viewed it, my eyes would have informed my (slightly bias) brain of a different incident to what I am seeing now. I'm old and honest enough to know that I can't watch football which either involves ManU or their serious oponents in a balanced and objective way. There is too much history and pasion involved. But I guess that's what makes us all such passionate suporters and leads to much post match discussion as we compare our views on the same incident. What I will say though .. is a hope that Eduardo get's well soon and the injury has no lasting effect on his skills or confidence.
