Still, the rest of the island really is worth a visit. It's a slice of paradise if you go to the right places. It's also a popular diving location but the nightlife is something else! If you go try Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok lots of cheap bars etc and such niceties as Soi Cowboy or Nana Ty to visit plus if you don't mind too many yanks try going down south to Pattaya as well. As to ' kathoey' - re lady boys they all have perfect figures and big hands and feet(only thing that cant be changed!!) Lots of really good food and lots of choice too! If you hire vehicles always have a couple hundred Baht in your license, works wonders. I'll be going on a proper holiday in a year or so.
