Whitesupraboy2
Michael, Get a hold of yourself and think what you are saying. Without the interminable lists certain members would be unable to make a complete hash of the simple act of cutting n' pasting and we wouldn't have huge sections of members going 'missing' from the list and all the subsequent re-editing that requires. I also think that it would be cruel to prevent some members from enjoying that 'look at me, LOOK AT ME, I'm going to XXXXXX show, ME! Aren't I cool? Look at me' vibe that adding ones name to a list causes. To be honest I have one reason I like the lists in threads. I only use 2 buttons on this forum really. 'View new posts' and 'search'. Does make it easier for me to get a quick update of whos going...yes. It doesnt bother me either way whether people use it or not though. Most threads are full of useless posts so the lists are either usefull to some or not. I'd say the majority like the lists in threads. Charlotte
To be honest I have one reason I like the lists in threads. I only use 2 buttons on this forum really. 'View new posts' and 'search'. Why can't there be a link to the calendar at the start of a major event and that be cut and pasted into the thread if people want to see names? Surely that's easier to print out and know who's going and who's not?
Class One
Why can't there be a link to the calendar at the start of a major event and that be cut and pasted into the thread if people want to see names? Surely that's easier to print out and know who's going and who's not? The calendar role call feature generates a list for all to see who have RSVP'd Yes or RSVP'd maybe. It's a simple enough feature to use, one that Mawby installed and it also generates a reminder pm to members if they so wish.
Pixelfill
Thanks for linking my calendar poll Michael, I'll take on board the missing link - I overlooked it. Thanks The main problem with the calendar is that it isn't used enough. In that particular thread we have a list of people who are attending, which barely resembles the calendar roll call. This makes it almost impossible to work out which is correct. Personally I'm all for using the calendar, but it needs to be used by correctly by all concerned. As Tom pointed out if a member decides to no longer attend an event, if they updated the calendar then it's a great system. I think the issue is that as a new feature (relatively) people are still reverting to the old list method we used to use. Mike
Tom S
Indeed Link to FAQ's that I updated reguarly about JAE 2007, with daily links which where not used. So we do use them, just a shame not correctly by the people attending the event:innocent:
