Dave S Posted January 22, 2005 Share Posted January 22, 2005 Hi...connected the battery for the first time today and all hell broke loose....theres an AI606 alarm fitted....I have the keyfob but no codes etc.....anyone got a USER manual or tell me how to disable the damn thing......many thanks.... SimonB Posted January 22, 2005 Share Posted January 22, 2005 There's no mention of anything happening if you disconnect and reconnect the battery - I've done this many times and it's never gone off. You should always be able to disarm it using the keyfob. It does have a PIN code which you can enter by turning the ignition on and off, but the code is on a card which you get with the alarm, and it sounds like you haven't got it! SimonB Posted January 22, 2005 Share Posted January 22, 2005 Well, if the keyfob doesn't do it (it's the black button top right to disarm) then I guess it may have forgotten it and needs reprogramming into the system. Matt Harwood Posted January 22, 2005 Share Posted January 22, 2005 The Ai606 shouldn't lose it's keyfob memory at all. Try checking/changing the battery in the remote. I'm not sure what you mean by 'rebuilt it', but when you first power up an Ai606 it should disarm by default, (unless it lost power while armed, in which case the remote shoud disarm it). Try checking all the power supplies to the alarm. Are the indicators flashing when the alarm goes off? - If not, this suggests the alarm lost power while armed, and currently has power to the siren, but not the alarm. Dave S Posted January 22, 2005 Author Share Posted January 22, 2005 After reading the manuals Merckx kindly sent me I kept re-arming it... hopefully it will be OK using the correct button....the car was bought with bare shell from the back seat forwards and all the bits in boxes...amidst the rats nest of wires was the AI606 which some reconnecting had to done......I was expecting some problems....dying to fire up my new engine!! Had a fancy reg with it like "450 BHP" or summink? Not trying to highjack your thread but i've got a TOAD Ai600 on mine obviously the primative model. I only got one keyfob with the car and wouldn't mind a spare. Tried getting an Toad alarm "specialist" to code one up but he only had new Ai606 remotes which wouldn't code to the car and he also tried a second had Ai600 remote he had in his tool box which also didn't work, He agreed my alarm was working fine but was meant to get back to me when he worked out why he couldn't code up a spare, tried ringing but "he's always on the phone to TOAD!" The Ai600 is more complicated as that alarm went through several revisions and during one of them they changed the frequency of the remote keys, so just because its meant for an Ai600, doesn't mean it'll work! To program new keys to an Ai606, you must have your PIN code. If you don't have that, (and you should!), mail me. For the Ai600, you should also have a green tag key as a back up. I need to know what your remote key looks like. Does it have 2 green buttons, or 2 black ones where one is smaller than the other? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
