Petrol to go to £1.50 a litre.

I've just been reading the Daily Express and the front page story is that it looks like petrol will hit £1.50 per litre by the end of the year but to add to the frustration of this, the government want to add ANOTHER 2.35p onto the price of petrol on the 1st of April. I wish we could get the Conservative party back into power instead of the f**king labour party wan*er Gordon Brown (obviously i do realise that a lot of you will probably disagree with this)

Marc,

I don't tbh think any government will be nice to the Motorists, we are seen as a cash cow for the coffers.

This is just another way to make motoring an elite past time.

THe UK is a whole mess, we are heading for a 100% melt down as costs spiral out of control.

This is not good news for our club either.

This means that some guys won't be able to afford the fuel so their cars will go up for sale; resulting in massive depreciation as the market becomes flooded.

At the end of the day, I bet there are a fair few guys in this fine club of ours that saved their arse off for their Supras but didn't quite realise the true cost to run the thing.

And I would have a quick get away car, (thats if I havent run out of petrol!) Hmmm not much space for "stock" :D

I can see the petrol stations being done over but for the petrol in this case and not for the money in the till.

That will be a funny sight when the armed robber is filling his car up on the forecourt instead of nicking the dosh.

price of oil has been dropping the last couple of weeks - but have we the consumers seen any of the action? what amazes me is how we've all been groomed to accept that £1.05 for diesel is now "the norm".... the price at my local shell went up to 1.08 yesterday :( i'm spending an extra £50 a month getting to work compared to three months ago, and i bet a LOT more compared to this time last year :(

I don't think the British public would accept paying anywhere near £1.50 per litre, it would a tipping point and maybe we'll emulate the French (recent) mentality. If the Labour government don't drop the fuel duty then they simply won't win the next election. Maybe the Tories should announce they'd cap petrol prices at 95p for unleaded and make up the losses by increasing oil companies' taxes slightly and pulling out of Iraq/Afghan'.

all this government does is put the tax up on everything!

That's one of the points I was ranting about yesterday

i hope our pay rises will cover this inflation then

And will they bol**x :taped:

It's not just the fuel either.

About 6 months ago I would pay less then £90 for a weekly food shop (mainly essentials, not luxuries'), now I be lucky to get the same stuff for £120-£130 a week. :(

that was said before, the public would never pay a £1 a litre:tongue: remember we are a nation of complainers but not a nation of protesters;)

I direct you to Post #22 on this thread.

If employers have to start paying people more - then start expecting redundancies.

We just let go 31 people in December.

I changed Departments last August and I was meant to get a pay rise in November I didn't get it because of Redundancies so I was promised one this April. I am not holding my breath. :taped:
