SupraRider Posted February 21, 2008 Share Posted February 21, 2008 Hi guys, I own an N/A Jspec automatic '93 supra. Noticed a problem when driving on the motorway, press the O/D down to get the car into 4th gear, managed to get the car up to 80mph with the rev counter reaching 3000rpm, then tried maintaining the speed for a while...the rev suddenly shoots up to 4-4500rpm! and I felt the car went down to 3rd gear even though the O/D is still on. I had to slow the car down to 50mph each time it repeats itself because its revving like crazy without picking up speed. can anyone help? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Im not an expert but i would imagine if this is low then the Tourqe converter may not have enough fluid to lock therefore you get higher revs and no drive - I stand to be corrected though Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SupraRider Posted February 21, 2008 Author Share Posted February 21, 2008 hi, thanks for writing, this sounds silly but I'm no expert in engines, I've tried locating the transmission fluid plus the dipstick and I cant find it. can someone tell me where it is? also, what type of fluid should I be using?
