Massive Rant

I suspect they might be trying to irradiate any correlation between these points.

Who wants to buy cheap cider anyway?

*raises hand*

My Husband likes that crap too.

I just don't see the point in moaning about it, you either start some kind of political movement / join and existing one and try to sort it out to suit the majority or you get out of Dodge and find a country you are happy in. Clearly the UK isn't for you but thanks for giving it a go for 11 years.

So the UK is better than where you came from but it's still not good enough... time for the next upgrade perhaps?

Like Michael said though, if things are difficult for you, or you feel like you could make a difference, join a political debate or try a campaign or two.

Thank you Michael and Charlotte for your great replies, I will just keep my views to myself from now on and sit back and read rather then post :taped:

LOL, thanks ;)

I will post but only on meaningless stuff that I can't be ridiculed over. Seems other people can vent their anger and rant yet when I do...............:taped:

Don't take it so personally, if venting your anger makes you feel better then isn't that a good thing ? Others don't agree or feel the need to express their views, its no biggie :)

Sorry, if anyone thinks this is another waste of space thread but I need to vent this somewhere.

God, I am really hacked off with this Country at the moment. Everyday some other sh*t to make your skin crawl is on the news.

People get murdered every day

Our Youth are (almost) all Yobs who don't care and have no Values and no respect

Council Taxes to rise in April

Fuel to rise in April

Water rates to raise by 10% in April (Bet your bottom $ wages won't be raised by 10%)

British Gas making massive profits while people scrimp to pay their bills

Pint prices to go to £4 quit in the pub (your having a f*ing laff)

Tesco want the Government to raise prices of Alcohol in shops

We get Gordon Brown, who said we wanted him?? Grrrrr.........

Permission to say "F***ing Bo**ox"

No wonder people leave the Country, what's here to stay for?? Before long Pubs won't exist because nobody can afford to drink in them, we ain't allowed to smoke in them. It will be somewhat cheaper to drink at home but if Tesco have their way not by much. Next they be telling us we can't smoke in our homes and we can't drive cars that have more then 1.1 engines.

RANT OVER, thank you :thumbdown::badmood:

Love your pic Anja. I have two little pussies myself :)

I can understand your point of view, but i feel there has been some improvement over the last 200 years or so ;)

eg. child prositution off the streets of london.

smog gone!

child labour scrapped.

introduction of minimum wage.

right of vote for women.

there are probably more but I can't think of any else right now.

:)

So effectively you are saying that people should only reply to your posts if they agree with you otherwise you aren't going to write anything?

How bizarre.

Maybe living in a police state would be the solution to chavs.

I'm with steve on this one.....

Maybe life has gotten better? I don't think so, our lives may be EASIER not better.

We are told what to eat, what to do, we are constantly watched like children via CCTV. We are tracked 24's a day (And if you think I'm paranoid, do you have a mobile phone?). All of our actions are monitored; bank card transactions, number plate tracking systems, take your pick.

For this ease of life we pay with our ultimate freedom and perhaps some elements of society require this sort of babysitting but what about those that don't it gets forced upon them. We however embrace the lack of freedom and turn it into entertainment. Big Brother for example... I personally don't watch it, but it was very popular.... A reality show watched by people that are being watched by people, ironic isn't it.

This is not a dig at home (UK), but a global thing.

Absolutely. I think the authorities are getting the kind of surveillance powers that many police states have, but not (yet?) the powers to enforce the will of the ruling party.

Not at all mate just the way you replied seemed a little

patronizing and saying to me basically we don't care what you think so why bother posting it that's all.

Everybody has different opinions and they are entitled to them. I was merely pointing out that this Country is turning into a Nanny state and that Germany isn't much better.

I just wanted to rant and get it off my chest because I ALONE could never change how the world works but saying it here and seeing other peoples replies made me see I am not alone with my opinions.

At least somebody in this country is happy to be shafted by it.

In the past I used to hound my Danish boss for not putting a Union Jack on our Le Mans race cars,I was proud to be a Brit.

But not anymore. This country does indeed wind me up.Either it is getting worse or Im turning into Victor Meldrew.

Did we not be famous and world leaders in most fields at one time?

Please tell me what we are famous for now?........

Or doesn't feel like they are being shafted in comparison to millions of people who are far worse off perhaps?

Don't get me wrong here, certain elements could be improved to make things better for me personally but at what cost to others?

Moaning about things but not actually doing anything useful about the "problem" because it's always someone elses job...

I completely agree with you... I chose to move to the UK from SA, beause of violence, murder, rape, etc.

However I have a completely different set of issues here, that is forcing me to consider moving, again.

Bit like in I-robot then. Super computer decides it's best for the protection of the human race to lock them away and control every aspect of their lives.

So where's the compromise between human rights, freedom and political correctness? I'm betting it's different for everyone!

Bizarrely I actually agree with Michael  :D

As for the Police state, so long as the judiciary and the the enforcement role are kept seperate then the Police state will never occur.

The Labour government (as much as I hate them) has worked hard to separate the 2 powers and that in my opinion is a good thing. The only problem now though is that the Police are being given more powers and many go against the rules the Courts are given by the ECHR and the liberal europeans.
