The in the tech FAQ's there is a copy of the seal replacement section of the manual. The seals can be done with the box in the car, so I have been told.

The selecrtor shaft seal removal is ARRPITA, it seems that putting the new one in on top of the old one works well and easier to do.

I've replied to your PM ;)

was told that the box has to come out........

The box does not need to come out to replace either the output shaft seal or the selector seal.

The selector seal is near impossible to remove without taking the box out so the ones who know what they are doing simply push an additional seal onto the selector shaft. It works :)
