I can't imagine if the dogs weren't ok that Chris wouldn't notice.

DB I have to disagree with you about any dog being ok outside because in the wild that is what would have happened.... next time you see a whippet or yorky living in the wild let me know! The way humans breeed dogs to make them what we want as pets breeds out all that nature stuff.

Mine both live inside. They HATE the cold, when we go to mums she has an open fire and the dobe practically climbs into it, he gets really hot to the touch. At home he lies next to the rad. The ridgeback isn't quite as bad but he is always getting under duvets etc, where he gets really hot. In the summer they will take themselves into the garden and lie in the baking sun, I have to get them in at times because I don't want them getting too hot!

True about ear infections though, as you would expect, fungus+heat etc.

If it's cold or raining outside Stig wont go out. In fact Jon took them out for their morning walk during this winters heavy rain. About 5 mins after they'd gone I heard what I thought was someone trying to break in. It was actually Stig, hurling himself against the door screaming his head off.

Scraps has a coat, he shivers from anything below 5 degrees I suppose. But then he's always been sickly.

Hairy dogs though, or those native to this or colder countries that have been brought up outside will be fine!
