Nic
What brake discs do people prefer, Grooved, Drilled or both? What are the pros and cons? Stock, unless you want to spend big money on 2-piece discs (lighter than stock). Grooves just reduce the braking area, drilled holes are prone to cracking. http://www.project-mu.co.jp/e/images/parts/rotor/SCR-PRO_SLIT-FS.jpg
simbasupra
Have no experience but was also wondering this. I think solid discs are prone to warping, drilled discs are prone to cracking so i guess grooved discs will be a happy medium. i'm sure someone will be along to correct me though. Nic
What about the warping factor of stock discs nic? When I had stock OEM Toyota disc fitted, I never had a problem with warping.
flukey-lukey
i was told these are half descent 3G GR-10 front discs I have those. The feel is better than stock imo, but I really need to get some decent pads too
Bobbeh
I stuck with stock discs until I started doing track days, even then I went with TRD discs which are virtually stock but for some grooves... which are supposed to aid frequent heavy braking sessions, I think with stock dics you'd get better performance for a emergency stop than those with slots and drilled holes. I managed to warp my UK fronts about a year ago, but they were more than a little worn out when it happened!
