cheekymonkey
I was about to go on a journey today, however started the car and noticed a rattle coming from the turbo area on idle - it goes when I apply throttle but comes back again on idle. It seems to be coming from the area quite close to the bulkhead, so the opposite of the area in this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=21412 I do have hose TTC mod and have not boosted the car for some time as I have set my rev limit to 3k until I can get the bigger injectors mapped. Is this likely to be the same problem or are my turbo's on the way out? They've only done 60k miles or so. (mainly at stock pressure)
Tricky-Ricky
I presume you have done the TTC mod the quick way ie switch the vac hoses? so it will be the IACV butterfly thats rattling, due to the system not holding full vacuum at low RPM, some do that, if you want to get rid of it, then wire open the IACV and EGCV butterfly's. cheekymonkey
Yes Ryan.G did some magic with hoses to enable TTC. I might actually get him to revert it back to stock next time I see him, I presume that will also fix the problem
miko_supra
how do you find the ttc? or have you not really been able to experience it yet as for the rev limit?
Chris Wilson
I have seen two exhaust gas diverter valves break with this mod, they are ceramic, and as you might imagine, they don't like being rattled about constantly.
cheekymonkey
Just went for a drive to drop the car off at Interpro and the noise disappeared, presumably after everything got re-pressurized again, so I will keep an ear out for it in the future. Cheers for your advice chaps
