The Raven
At long last the silver Supra that has been spotted so many times around our area has a face to match the car. I pulled into Burger King (westwood) to see the silver Jspec waiting to go in the car wash. I beeped and gave him a thumbs up he he just looked at me as if to say "sod off" then spent the 4 minutes it took them to get to his car looking at mine. He didnt even come over after to say hi. Dont think we will be seeing him in the club anytime soon. Some Supra owners have no class. The moral of the story is...............Thanet Silver Supra guy with a blonde Mohawk. Dont bother. martin1982
What a pleb. Some of us waste hours and petrol hoping to get spotted by someone on here in our Supra, then some git who's not even a member sits there in their Supe like an ignorant ****. Some people... We can only hope that the car was actually a City Rover with some kind of "pretending to be a Supra" bodykit on it:Pling:

Tannhauser
Some of us waste hours and petrol hoping to get spotted by someone on here in our Supra, Surely not? That's genuinely tragic. then some git who's not even a member sits there in their Supe like an ignorant ****. Into the wicker man with him! I'm with JamesMark on this one. At first I was looking for some irony, but apparently, you lot are genuinely aggrieved. That's astonishing. Not everybody feels an automatic kinship with every human being who drives the same type of car that he/she does. Strange to say, some people will not be be familiar with the idea that they are required by law to acknowledge others who have one possession in common with them. By analogy: "I saw a bloke wearing the same leather jacket I had on. I waved at him and he didn't wave back. He just stared at me with either puzzlement or arrogance, I'm not sure, so let's assume it was arrogance. What an ignorant tosspot, why are people like this?" "I hope his buttons fall off" "Many wear leather jackets, blah blah"

"I hope his buttons fall off" "Many wear leather jackets, blah blah" I see your point but I'm not convinced by comparing a leather jacket to a relatively rare iconic sports car like the Supra. I think its nice to share a kinship with a complete stranger. A unique bond that two individuals share. Its like the good old days of the AA when a mobile mechanic would salute you if he saw the AA badge.

Jevansio got an invite from FTO owners. I was pleasantly surprised by it all, I thought this kind of camraderie only went on with bikes 'til I got involved with the Supra. It's definately a more common occurrence than being ignored.

CarlT67
Well I think that the guy has obliviously gone out of his way to buy Supra, its nit exactly a mk4 fiesta run around, he also therefore has a an interest in cars and therefore knows that owner clubs exist etc so people will wave... Its not much to ask for an acknowledgment back IMO
Tannhauser
I see your point but I'm not convinced by comparing a leather jacket to a relatively rare iconic sports car like the Supra. Maybe I should have said 'Rolex wearers', then. That's a rare and iconic product, but I'm sure Rolex owners don't necessarily feel any bond with each other. Why should car owners? When I bought my first Supra, I didn't know anything other than I'd read in the Parker's guide. I certainly didn't understand why anyone would flash their lights at me etc. It wasn't really until I joined this club that I had any inkling people got so worked up about their cars. So for me, although it was a significant purchase, it just wouldn't have occurred to me that I was supposed to feel some sort of connection with another owner. I think its nice to share a kinship with a complete stranger. A unique bond that two individuals share. Well, I think meaningless social aggregations are a good thing. Seriously - they make the world go round. But here we've got one person who is defining himself as a member of a particular group and the other who either doesn't see himself in those terms or resents the attempt to drag him into that group, as it were. I can't see it's anything to get the hump about. It might be unfriendly, but - FFS - I'm amazed at comments about him not deserving to own one, or hoping something breaks on his car. Makes me think he had the right idea when some owners are so childish. It's also worth bearing in mind that some of the ex-supra owners have moved on specifically because they didn't want to be associated with the 'typical' Supra driver any longer (as the demographic shifted). Personally, I do speak to/acknowledge other drivers, but I don't feel they're under any obligation to return my interest.

Guest Geneb
sorry but not all people are comfortable talking to strangers, and as much as it pains me what he said is 100% and we really shouldn't be wishing car problems on the guy.
