Sheefa Posted February 18, 2008 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Not sure if anyone here watches it, but that was the most emotional programme and reality check I've ever seen. I'm not normally a soppy sort, but I was in tears half way through when they all returned home. I have a huge amount of respect for Ross and the crew heading out there to bring the 'real' account of war home to us, sitting comfortably in our chairs. I have an even greater respect for all those that of course are still out there, and especially those who lost their lives and their families. Ross had a few very important messages at the end. I wonder if they'll ring home with the Government now...... Brilliant, epic, heart moving programme. RIP all those who lost their lives and please continue to make us proud all those currently serving, both on here and outside the Supra.net remit. Shadow Beast Posted February 18, 2008 Share Posted February 18, 2008 the one that really got to me was episde 3 towards the end, where you saw the helmet cam footage of Pte Gray during the contact, very emotional i thought, that was real time footage of guys dealing with a situation that is not nice to be in, my thoughts went out to that section during that time. i have a lot of my old troop deployed on ops at the moment on Op HERRICK so my thoughts are with them at the moment to ensure they have a safe return soon. richie Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Jezz Posted February 19, 2008 Share Posted February 19, 2008 Indeed, a great insight. Disgusted at the money those guys get. £20k odd a year to do that?!! Folk that answer telephones and tap at computers all day get more than that, and footballers get perhaps 100 times that!! Plus the fact they have to shell out for private insurance, as the goverments own payouts fall way short. What a sad sad country we live in.
