Blackie
I have been watching The law of the playground on C4, I found it quite interesting so i brought the book by the same name. It brought back loads of memorys. Has anyone here got any amusing storys/memorys from there school days? I remember spending my16th birthday in isolation And two days later i was asked "To leave the school" Not amusing but a memory nether the less

marcAB10
we had an art teacher who was the double of Billy Connelly who was very eccentric he used to make pupils stand in the bin when they were misbehaving. i got kept behind for talking too much, i was being a bit smug when he was reprimanding me when he came out with "stop giving me the look like your fingers just popped through the toilet paper" well after that i couldn't stop laughing resulting in detention.. i recently found out he was sacked after being caught sleeping with a pupil in the art supply cupboard (she was 18) cliche or what.. Mrs H
Frequent detentions, writing lines or pointless essays in detention, being on report for three out of five years... I had fun:D Vicki x

mathew
my second week of starting secondary school i got suspended for 2 weeks. was on the school bus on top (was a double decker) and decided to pull a mooney out the back window at the last but one stop. my mates who got off found this quite amusing but were signalling at a car that had just pulled up. this car turned out to be an undercover cop car so onboard walk 2 coppers and they start questioning me. i thought it would be best to deny it was me but turned out i was the only one left on the bus. the school got informed and my parents were sent a letter saying thet id been suspended for 'exposing myself' on the bus. made me out to sound like a right perv! i didnt have any trouble making new friends in that school as by the time i got back word had spread and everyone knew who i was and wanted to talk about it:D looking back it seemed that it was a cloud with a silver lining:D
Havard
I have loads of great stories from school. One of my best memories of my friend Martin (who is no longer with us) was one day in Maths. The whole back row of the class was empty except me in the back right hand corner and him in the back left. We were going through our "paper pellet & elastic band" phase.... During the lesson I was working hard and felt something whistle past my nose as I was writing. I looked at him and he's looking straight forward at the blackboard with a big grin on his face. I took my time and waited about 10 mins until he dropped his guard. He was cockily rocking back on the back legs of his chair, I winked at him and gestured out the window........looked out of the window and turned back just as I let fly. The pellet hit him in the forehead and he fell backwards off his chair and was slumped in a heap against the back wall..... To this day I doubt that I have ever laughed so much, we were both put on detention!! Happy memories of a great mate. Unfortunately Martin died when he was 15 though in a coach crash in Australia.... SupraStar 3000
Our chemistry lab at school had wooden work tops that went around the outside edge linked together with a small gutter edge and gradual slope running downhill until the very last desk which also had a sink attached,.. idea being any liquid spills would eventaully run down into the sink. One day I noticed my arch nemesis Jim Hopkins sitting at the last desk with his new walkman, pencil case and library books covering the gutter,.. so armed with lighter fluid and a bunsen burner I went about pouring the liquid into the trough until the tiny trickly reached its target. WOFF!!! Within a few seconds everybodys desk was on fire and I was in a hole world of trouble. Not a good day for me.
JustGav
Our chemistry lab at school had wooden work tops that went around the outside edge linked together Ah yes, it would be those exact type of desks that turned into a shower of splinters with my pipe bomb science experiment....(the poor science teacher really didn't believe it would work), armed with the Jolly Roger cookbook and access to the chemistry cupboard... 1 week later, I had crafted a fine example... 40cm of plastic PVC 1" diameter piping, filled with around 300g of an interesting mixture of gun powder and various other compounds. I remember all the kids ducking behind the desks two rows behind me, it wasn't until the kids ducked down that the science teacher had the sudden realization that I had indeed done it before and did have a level of success... So I flicked the 12v switch on the lab power supply, sending a nice voltage down the wires the graphite tube (pencil lead glows something lovely under high current) inside the PVC. Nothing happened for around 2 secs, and as I stuck my head up I head the obvious sound..........BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM.... Lots of smoke and noise... Burnt the top of my hair (see told you it wasn't a new thing)... 3 broken windows, 2 desks cracked in half and burnt and the lab door had been blown off the hinges I stood up with the usual scorch marks on my face and big grin... needless to say the head master didn't share my excitement at discovering basic chemistry... To add more problems, the desk was on fire and I had used the extinguisher the previous day to freeze an apple

Pot
We had (And I believe he's still there) Peter Kingston, Ex England Rugby player as our 'Head of Games', needless to say it was the class we dreaded (Especially when I got promoted to the rugby team)... My funny times were : 1) Emptying a can of 'Fart Gas' into the showers in the pavillion for the aforementioned PK to run in there to come out coughing, and for him to condemn the building due to 'Dry Rot'... 2) Pretending to have a fight next to the School Moat (Pates Grammar School used to have a moat in and around it, not the new school they've built since) - And kicking in the first teacher that came 'to help', that water didn't have anywhere to go, it'd been slowly circulating for years... 3) Not my fault this time, a Chemistry teacher giving us a lesson, we're all sat there with out bunsen burners lit to do an experiment, but the phial of alcoholol that a 6th former had bubbling away cracked, and half of the room was on fire within seconds, the funniest bit was the teacher telling us to shut up and listen as we were running out of the doors Ah, and the amount of things we shot in our indoor rifle range, having that and an armory usually won most school-school arguments )

I remember a lad at school sliding down a wooden banister, and getting a splinter in his scrotum, which had to be pulled out by the school nurse (allegedly)! He was treated as a kind of hero after that.
stevie_b
I also remember a lad in my class who liked to scuff along the carpet in the library, building up several thousand volts of static electricity, then touch the back of your neck. Ouch! Not the most popular of kids. The school bus was good for getting stories. On ours, some of the school rebels liked to fill bicycle pumps with lighter fuel, then hold a flame to the nozzle and push the fuel back out. Hey presto, a home made flame thrower. Aimed out the bus window at people we passed (cyclists etc), it caused an interesting reaction from them.
