how_supra
And it will cost you £399 for a road angel so it can't happen again spooky I was just looking at Road Angels on Ebay!! Less than £300!!
raymanuk
spooky I was just looking at Road Angels on Ebay!! Less than £300!! If you buy a road angel off ebay - get the seriel number for the road angel as a load of these were nicked. Tehn call up black spot and check to see if it is legit. Then when you go to sign up the black spot they won't as registered stolen. I learnt the hard way. Not saying there aren't any legit ones on there just sharing my experience with you. SilverMachine
I got "gripped" doing 125.14mph (at least that's what the unmarked BMW police car showed on their screen) in a 70 zone five years ago! Managed to sway the ban and got 6 points and £800 fine. Tend to stay around the 96mph mark these days though. Good luck! Gaz
tobyg
I have a road Angel 2 and it is useful for the fixed cameras. According to the road angel mph, the supra's speedo is 10% less, so it may have only clocked u at about 88mph. the speedo in my calibra was the same. Sharpie
4 points £350 and a day in court for 96.5 mph. I could have been given an on the spot fine if I would have been doing 96.0 :-(
raymanuk
I have herd that they have brought the instant ban penalty down from 100mph down to 91mph - will try and find the link.
how_supra
I didn't realise the Laguna could go faster than 70mph? he he, you have a good point. Though all of my points have been within 30 or 40mph speed!!! I know it struggles, but I could potentially do 70 in a 30............. I have a Snooper 4 and the GPS speed is also 10% less than the Dash Speedo - so you could be not so badly fined
roboldham
unfortunately the 96mph was what was indicated on the Notice of Intended Prosecution :-( I never even saw a camera or lines in the road etc. on the dually. R

Max Headroom
Doing 96 on a dual carriageway these days is not really that much of a crime, if you are driving within the capabilities of the car, the road and the driver. If it was a clear dual carriageway away from any residential area and the road was dry I dont see any real harm. What I do not condone is doing 56 in a 30mph in a residential area. When cameras came out that was the place for them, not dual carriageways and motorways. Its another way of screwing money out of motorists. Oh and I got 3 points and £30 for doing 97.8 on a dual carriageway in the Highlands of Scotland on a Sunday morning

roboldham
Quick update - looks like this 96mph on a Dually is going to be 3 points and £60 - so I guess I should count myself lucky. R

Lazarus
Rob What sort of time scale was it between receiving the N.I.P., returning it and a responce telling you what the penalty was? I'm still waiting to hear what the result of my returned N.I.P. is going to be and its been a while now.
