Guest smith.s2k
Hi there im new to this website, I currently own a 99 Honda S2000 and im looking into buying a Supra. Now im after a Twin-Turbo 6 speed manual(RZ) hopefully a 99+ model. What sort of prices should I be looking at? Also a quick question about Aerotop Supras. I understand they didnt release a Manual version(only in the US) but what would be the cheapest way to get a Manual Aero? Covert the transmission over? or would changing the body shells be easier? I saw a Black one for sale in Malvern months ago but was quickly snapped up on ebay god dam it. Anyway cheers guys
jamesmark
Auto to manual, this costs appx £2.5k-£3k for the conversion.
SteveR
Are you in Malvern as well??
Pabs
Changing body shell is a MUCH bigger job. I really want an Aero GZ (TT) but it'll be auto - and then a 3.5k conversion to manual on top.

Jezz does it for £3k and it would only cost maybe £2.5k for a DIY conversion.

My bad - nobody is ripping me off (yet) - I seem to remember Jezz saying it was about 3.5k for the lot, but then I think Rob is right - that may have included a new clutch too. (unless you want an uprated one)
Pabs
awwww i dunno then - but whichever it's cheaper than I said! yay! My plans would be to single-tubby the car anyway, so probably need an uprated clutch at same time
Jake
I don't think you'll find a 99+ aerotop. I think they stopped making aerotops in 97 (not 100% sure)

What a shame - the whole UK market dissapearing and things like this all read as a general underlying sentiment of Supras weren't widely recognised and/or highly regarded. Jake
Possibly left hookers? I can't recall any right hand facelifts aeros. Just did a quick search to check Faye's car's year, ISTR it was a facelift Aero, anyway seems her's is/was a 98 aerotop - so they're out there! Pete
Just did a quick search to check Faye's car's year, ISTR it was a facelift NA, anyway seems her's is/was a 98 aerotop - so they're out there! Cool. Quite rare then.
captainchaos
aero TT's were only out in 93 and
dangerous brain
Yeah Fayes is an N/A though as are any RHD aerotops in facelift guise. That would then entail an engine swap or serious rebuild and turbo conversion. How big a job is it to swap a LHD to a RHD?
Pabs
ahh, that would explain why every Aero TT I find is a 93/94 then! d'oh - i knew that too, but for some reason was hoping there would be a later one! haha
Guest smith.s2k
How much is it roughly to fit a standard Supra twin-turbo to the engine if I was to get a SZ?
SteveR
How much is it roughly to fit a standard Supra twin-turbo to the engine if I was to get a SZ? I think that's about £3k as well, but there are a few things on an NA that aren't as good as a TT - the gearbox for example (unless they made any SZ-R aerotops??) On this note then, what else is there that would need changing in order to convert an SZ-Aero to equvalent of RZ/GZ-Aero? Engine Gearbox Brakes Abs ..... Jake
ABS, unless you were able to find an NA with ABS of course.
Pabs
Ta - I'll keep note of these in my post above if that's cool - so I can refer back to it ;P
The Raven
Best way has to be Aero TT to 6 speed then facelift it?
