CJ
Football haters look away now. After today's result and given the poor relationship with Rafa and the owners, is this the end? Or will they continue to "support" him?

Bobbeh
Yup, if the Inter Milan game goes pear shape then he would have achieved nothing this season. I think he'll be on his way.
adam bell
i cant see any hope for him, this season is a write off and a new manager will come in next season. bring in jose

steb9780
I got a text from my chavski workmate, whilst at the North West rally stages in Blackpool. I didn't believe it at first until I got back in the car and heard it on the radio. Gutted is not the word. This doesn't do any favours for Tuesday nights confidence. Kopite
Wish Rafa would just say yeah we were awful today and have to improve. He seems to be saying the opposition keepers are playing well etc and that we're creating plenty of chances. It has to be better.
mkirby
i'm a man utd fan so well chuffed at the performace of the season destoying arsenal but most of my family are liverpool fans and for the last few seasons they have simply not been god enough, for the £100+ million they have spent they should be near the top but there some 20+ points off which for a top team in not good enough, yes they won the champions league but he has riden this for the last few years and his time has come, he is simply not good enough manager for liverpool and they need dare i say it jose!! adam bell
i agree he has been keeping his job because of his champions league success. we have lost only 4 league games this year but drawn about 11 we just cant seem to finish teams off,i think that is down to the rotation of players they need to play week in week out with the same line if possible so the team know where there teamates are through instinct. i cant see him being there next season
Alex C
I blame the players nearly as much as Rafa, some of them are just not cutting it this season in terms of effort & decisions despite being given a chance to improve. At the end of the day though, he continues to field a changed squad game after game (and keeps playing some of the aforementioned lame ducks) and the fluency of movement has disappeared from early in the season. I think it does depend a lot on Tuesday's performance, but before that there are rumors of a big press conference on Monday...DIC related maybe? If rafa gets sacked, a new guy comes in, players leave and new players are brought but the club stays in limbo for a few more years. Personally i would like to see him given another season and the big mouth Americans get the boot
RiceRocket
Apparently it'll cost £6 million to say 'You're Fired' to Rafa due to a clause in his contract so I reckon he'll be allowed to see out his contract which ends next season I think. Who to replace him, Mourinho if he's still available? Rijkaard if he's too is sacked? BTW great sequence at Old Trafford - Van der Sar lift and volley to Evra jumping backheel then Nani's keepy uppy

suprascott
The failure to finsh off in my opinion very mediocre sides will be his ultimate failure, but then and again are we deluding ourselves thinking we are anything but mediocre, teams like Barnsley should not be getting a result at Anfield,i know its the ultimate competition for upsets but come on where is your bloody pride in that coveted red shirt

mkirby
Liverpools main problem is world class players, to be at the top of the premiership you need a backbone of worldclass players to your team then backed up by very very good players and this is where Liverpool are short!! you have 2 at the most of what i would call world class, Gerrard and Torres, i must admit i still have doubts about gerrard, sometimes i watch him and think i would have him at Man Utd (not that he would ever come) but against other great teams he is nowhere to be seen and looks very ordinary but without his leadership Liverpool are nothing!! too much money spent on mediocre players which wouldnt get into the top 3 teams!! adam bell
i think he often gets over looked he has saved us so many times over the years. if the old england managers didnt have s*** for brains then he would have got more recognition. but same old story rio woops ferdinand always got picked.
