Firestorm
do people put these on- are they worth it- and if so what is the best one- which way do u think i should go with this one? etc etc.
marc_p
I've left my standard one on with uprated panel filter as the car does long distance journeys so like to keep mpg up.
Animal
No, No, Stock, Stock Unless you're running monster power, there's nowt better than the stock airbox with maybe a Bltz or TRD panel filter fitted.
Firestorm
oh rite so actually just get a better filter instead of changing the whole unit! we all like to keep our mpg up!! lol
Angarak
Stock gives better filtration plus it always has a cold air feed via 2 sources. Induction kits generally offer less filtration (more crap entering your engine), are more expensive to maintain (filters wise) and unless ducted to a cold air feed take in warm/hot air. Colder denser air gives more power and better mpg
Firestorm
in that case il just leave it as normal then, with my beautiful blitz intercooler doin some cold air stuff lol! so do people just put them on for show- cos u see this engine bays with these two giant ass mushroom style intakes and that but really thats doing sod all then!? marc_p
Depends how good the cold air feeds are.

Dave
standard box looks crap ive got an apexi kit on mine with two 3inch cold feed pipes and shielding sounds awesome havent noticed any loss in mpg
suprattgaz
standard box looks crap ive got an apexi kit on mine with two 3inch cold feed pipes and shielding sounds awesome havent noticed any loss in mpg as above I have had them both, for ages. I love the way you can hear the turbos so clearly through the Apexi. std are good, but enclose and duct cold air into an induction kit (like I have) and it is spot on. Bollox to what other people say about the std. filter - I agree it is designed to function for this car, but I like the look and sound of the induction kits. do what you want mate, all of my supra's have run with induction kits with no problems whatsoever - it is an un-proven theory. Who knows, the crap entering might sand blast the internals and clean off the carbon making them more efficient?! (joking!) Gary
