CJ
Unless he thinks thirty is old, which he shouldn't if he has 2 kids. Is there an age limit to having children then? As in you cannot be younger than X?

marc_p
Is there an age limit to having children then? As in you cannot be younger than X? No i'm just saying that your usually at least twenty when you have kids and at twenty you don't see people who are thirty as "old".
garethr
What I don't understand is that I constantly see stories like this one. The police seem to be incapable of using the law to deal with four men who: -- had 69 complaints about them including threats to kill, battery, street fighting, slashing tyres, domestic abuse, fraud, drink driving, disorderly behaviour, and drug possession with intent to supply -- invaded the home of a disabled neighbour for up to six months, smashing the door down if it was locked, and stole his possessions -- caused three families to move and have to resort to an ASBO. However, show them an innocent member of the public who didn't even have anything in his possession which resembled a gun, and he gets the full arrest, fingerprints, DNA swab, and record of being "arrested on suspicion of a firearms offence" treatment. There doesn't really seem to be any logic to how the police work.

Scoboblio
I think people are being far too harsh on the police for this. The only two things I can see that are wrong are; > His DNA will stay on the database > He will have on his record that he was arrested on suspision of a firearms offence. Other than that, they got a (completely wrong) complaint from a member of the public that he had a gun, which they have an obligation to take 100% seriously. The misleading headline that he was arrested 'for listening to an MP3 player' should read 'bus bystander should've gone to specsavers'. So are you telling me that if it was you who was arrested, you would be happy to have that on your record?
Thorin
He can apply to have his DNA removed from the database I believe, and as he was never charged with anything he doesn't have a criminal record and doesn't have to declare anything to future employers etc. etc. TurboTomo rocks. Matt H
When i was a kid, we used to run around the street with cap guns pretending to kill each other, then we would probably pretend to shoot the tyre off a car driving up the road, did it in wales on our campsite loads..... Dont ever remeber getting done for having an imitation firearm,
Matt H
And you keep the lighter in the car just in case you need to light a cigarette and have forgotten to bring another lighter do you? It's an offense to have an imitation firearm in public, and just happening to have one in the car raises further suspicion. It's against the law, I wouldn't say it's harsh at all. Perhaps they'd seen some of your posts and they did you for crimes against English as well though?
