Guest gzaerojon
I'm having my 6 speed conversion done next week and i have been told by a few that i can actually use my auto ecu. I can understand that once the auto box is gone there will be no feedback signals from the box to the ecu to retard the ignition, but i was just wondering if there is anything else that the ecu does that i might be missing? cheers

gaz1
I PM'd Jezz re this very issue and when he does the conversion he keeps the auto ECU in. on a tt as well as a n/a i always thought you had to have a 6 speed ecu with the 6 speed box
Jezz
I PM'd Jezz re this very issue and when he does the conversion he keeps the auto ECU in. It all depends on whats in stock at the time. If we have no manual ecu's, the TT auto ecu is good for the job. on a tt as well as a n/a i always thought you had to have a 6 speed ecu with the 6 speed box Nope, auto ecu works fine on a 5 or 6 speed. All the auto ecu does with the autobox is slighlty alter timing on gear changes, with no autobox, its just a dead signal.
mk1its
Jezz - To resurrect an old topic, if I want to fit a manual ECU into an auto car (TT), what would I need to do?
