Jake
Yes, it's been done. If you do a search for words like "Rubbish handling" "flexing" and "chestwig" you should find all you need to know.
redsupraman82
Yes it has been done mate, but really not a good idea! the aerotop has extra strenghing in the chassis so it wont flex on the hard tops the roof is one of the main parts that hold the whole car together. in short it would cost you A LOT of money to get this done. might just be worth waiting to get a aerotop! Hope this helps:D
Havard
Buy a motorbike. You'll have a better chance in a crash than a "modified" aerotop...... H.
dangerous brain
This topic has been done to death now. Just search up convert aerotop http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=138296&highlight=hardtop+aerotop thats the latest thread but there are many if you look deep enough. rpslaughter1982
TBH Your best bet would be to buy an aerotop. You can get them quite cheap now and if you transfered the bits you want off your current car on to it and vice versa you could sell your hard top to ease the financial pain
Alex
Buy an aerotop!!! Don't destroy a hardtop. It's lunacy, idiocy and if you decide to do it I pray to god that when you wrap it round a lamppost no one else is hurt!!!
Matt H
I've seen the extra strengthening on the chassis of the aerotop and it isnt that significant from what i can tell... anyhows, just get and aerotop and do hte conversion the other way around.
