Mark Ayling
Following on from my Apexi thread, does anyone know anything about the "scramble" function on the AVC-R? I know what it does and can pretty much work out how to set it up on the AVC-R but apparently (according to the not-very-helpful manual) you need to connect an external switch to the unit, which triggers the function? Any help much appreciated.... Cheers, Mark.
Guest Martin F
If it's the same as the one on the Blitz DSBC (which it sounds like it is) then it allows you to run a slightly higher boost pressure for a limited amount of time after you activate it, i.e. hit the button. Supposed to be useful for those tight overtaking manoeuvres when you could do with a little bit more ooommpphh. On the DSBC you can select it as a seperate mode, not sure if the add on button is the only way of doing it on your AVC-R.
Neil Sandham
The scramble function needs to be connected to a momentary switch (not supplied with the AVCR). Through the menu system you can then set up a boost level for a given amount of time (up to a max of 30 seconds I think). The idea being that you set the scramble to a higher level for small durations (say overtaking) without the damage of running it at high boost at all times. Similar I guess to the way Nos is used but not as dramatic. cheers Neil.
