Scramble!

Recommended Posts

Following on from my Apexi thread, does anyone know anything about the "scramble" function on the AVC-R?

I know what it does and can pretty much work out how to set it up on the AVC-R but apparently (according to the not-very-helpful manual) you need to connect an external switch to the unit, which triggers the function?

Any help much appreciated....

Cheers,

Mark.

If it's the same as the one on the Blitz DSBC (which it sounds like it is) then it allows you to run a slightly higher boost pressure for a limited amount of time after you activate it, i.e. hit the button.

Supposed to be useful for those tight overtaking manoeuvres when you could do with a little bit more ooommpphh. On the DSBC you can select it as a seperate mode, not sure if the add on button is the only way of doing it on your AVC-R.

The scramble function needs to be connected to a momentary switch (not supplied with the AVCR). Through the menu system you can then set up a boost level for a given amount of time (up to a max of 30 seconds I think). The idea being that you set the scramble to a higher level for small durations (say overtaking) without the damage of running it at high boost at all times.

Similar I guess to the way Nos is used but not as dramatic.

cheers

Neil.
