gaijin
Front crank seal has been replaced 3 times. All is ok,until i give it a good boost(say a bar) then the leak starts.Seems to be the crank seal, but not sure.Happening when oil pressure is built up.Could it(oil) be passing from somewhere else other than the crank?Going daft, please help. Thanks
supradibbs
i had this problem when we removed the crank seal for a close inspection found that there was damage to the sleeve on the end of the crank Are you sure its not the pump? gaijin
Thanks Supra. No,not sure it isn't the pump. The mechanic thinks its might be a leak from a nut(24mm?) about the pump. Will ask him about the pump itself.Ary more sugestions would be appreciated. Thanks again. Tricky-Ricky
Almost certainly your oil pump, if you search for some of my old posts on the subject, you will see why, the fact that its blowing the seal at high RPM is a classic symptom, the only way the pressure relief valve nut, which is what your mechanic is guessing at, will leak is if its been over tightened.
