broomie
i live on a main road and there was a crash outside my yard tonight no one hurt, a megaine scenic pulled out of our layby and was struck by a mondeo, didnt see it happen but heard it, no skidding, copper thats live opposite came running out checked everyone was ok in the megaine then went to the mondeo that the driver was revving the nuts off obviously to try and get away but his front wheels wernt turning. copper grabed his keys and driver got out and tried to run, copper gave chase then it kicked off! copper (off duty) removed his jacket as the driver (big lad) started swinging at him, a few blows were exchanged and finally 15-20 after the crash! police turned up, 6 cars full of them. our local police station is under 2 miles away ! anyway driver of the mondeo got pinned to the floor and then got nicked and taken away. as my GF is at work tonight i thought id go out and do a bit of video footage for her! so out i went everything cool, then copper shouted at me came over tried to take my phone told me it was illegal to film the police and then told me to pi*s off before i got arrested and my phone taken away! Can they do that? my layby is a private road owned by my landlord and i didnt leave it!

Not in Britain, you can film anyone or any building/car you like. I believe if the person requests a copy of the footage you have to provide it. I think that's part of the Data Protection Act. Rob
eg Paparazzi Exactly. I'd heard the opposite in France, whereby every person owns their "image", however there are plenty of paps in France, especially if someone famous bangs it into a concrete tunnel support.
