Ian C
You haven't got a sub heated oxygen sensor on a j-spec. There is a CAT temperature sensor though, which doesn't need to be plumbed into anything anyway. If you need a downpipe with a CAT on it I've got three spare -Ian
penguin
Hi Ian, Is that a downpipe and cat suitable for a jspec twinturbo (auto)?? would i need to have a restrictor ring aswell? (sorry to sound like a newbie....... but er..... )
Ian C
It's a stock downpipe off a j-sepc twin turbo so it'll fit You shouldn't need a restrictor ring if you put a CAT in but why would anyone want CATs in?! -Ian
penguin
lol, very tru, i have no idea about decatting, i have been told its not a standard exhaust, and that only one cat is present, what would u suggest i do? ...
Ian C
Get rid of the other cat of course -Ian

Let me hear from u.. Regards chris
Ian C
OK, to clarify: All MkIVs have a main oxygen sensor in the turbo downpipe. If you decat the first cat, it's this downpipe that gets replaced and the decat pipe will have a boss in it for your stock oxygen sensor. If you have a UK spec, euro spec, or US spec you will have a second oxygen sensor. You will need to keep this in the exhaust stream so you'll need a 2nd cat decat exhaust that has a boss on it for this second oxygen sensor. If you have a jap spec MkIV you won't have a second oxygen sensor so no boss is required on your 2nd decat pipe. You will have a cat temperature probe though, which is a 3" long solid metal probe, looks nothing like an O2 sensor. This needs to be connected still, but doesn't need to be plumbed into the exhaust system, so simply tie tag it out of the way somewhere under the car. Double decatting a J-spec usually results in boost creep as the stock wastegate arrangement isn't beefy enough to bypass enough gas to control boost levels, so you'll need a restrictor ring in the exhaust system which limits boost to safer levels - nothing much past 1.2bar is generally recommended for stock J-spec turbos. Hope this helps -Ian

I just gonna have the exhaust to the mop as u call it in uk I think.. I front cat is still there on my var so I just need the second. And there is a snsor or something like that on that one. So the question is if I just can plug the hole on the euro cat that fits on the back? then it will work? Regards Chris

Regards Chris So you have one oxygen sensor but a centre exhaust section that has a boss for a second oxygen sensor, yes? If that is the case you just need to weld it up or screw in a blanking plug. I have no idea what you are referring to as a 'mop', sorry -Ian
Alex
Chris, Can we have photo's of the parts please? I think you are saying you've got a sensor hole in your second decat pipe but that decat pipe is for a UK/Euro. If so it should fit. If in that pipe there is a hold for a sensor, it is for an optional Wide Band O2 sensor - seal the hole with an M18 bolt and do not worry about it. A Wide Band O2 is used by tuners to check the air/fuel ratio. Hope that helps EDIT - (Or of course Ian could write the same thing first)
