Chewie
You only need a wet suit if you're going to do open water swims which is only the bigger events. Most local club events swims are indoor. For £699 the bike will be very low spec. You're ex-army so should be a high fitness level. I guarantee you'll want to upgrade within a 6 months. Join the club first, check out used bikes etc and buy it all separately. Tri bikes are more or less time trialling machines with emphasis on speed and zero comfort. Mine costs £2.5K+. Shadow Beast
cheers, yeh the first is in a swimming pool, and the second is an open water swim, so do you have a training bike then? one that you do the miles on to keep up your fitness and then one to compete on? I was planning to get a bike that i could use for both evening rides and then compete with it at club events. so whats best in your opinion then? spend as much as i can afford on a bike and just get the other stuff from the net or similiar. What do i need to be looking for in the bike? any ideas of ones to look at? richie
