marc_p
Now I know you don't buy a supra as an economical car but my '95 n/a does 18mpg surely this seems a tad low, this compromised of town driving, motorway driving and country road driving with a bit of pedal to the metal aswell but taking it easy most of the time, does anybody know what could be causing this i.e. injectors need cleaning, o2 sensor or is this completely normal? Multics
I get about 22mpg on my NA with the same type of driving you're describing. Maybe the o2 sensors ?
Sparky
I work mine out to be 22 - 24mpg. Sounds like your cars drinking more than it should!
hoff
o2 sensors, give them a clean and see if you improve any.

R3DG3CKO ROB
Interesting... How do you clean the 02 sensors? The search doesn't let me search for 02 sensors (says it's too short)

Dazzi
Marc, I had that exact figure 18mpg. This was with town driving, flooring it etc. I replaced my 02 sensors and I get about 23mpg now.
Rory
18mpg is what I get too, its awful costs a fortune! I'm mostly around town though. I cleaned the O2 sensors in lemon juice but still have the same figure, I'm really not sure whether to splash out on new ones hmmmm

The sensor that goes into the exhaust is a little shorter than the toyota one but I haven't had any problems. I think a standard 02 is 2 wires tho.? Nic
When were the oxygen sensors last changed? It sounds like you need new ones, they'll pay for themselves in fuel saving very quickly. Organsing a group buy at the moment, details here: http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=111237
