thats going to be a s**t load of tax :faint:

We can see sense, but he is a very stongly minded person 82 and built it all, so very proud I guess., I have told him to sell it to me or Sarah for 50p but he is having none of it, plus afer 7 years iirc of being with someone civil law applies

So Sarah is going to be a rich little girl, as her grandads estate is only being split 2 ways, John and his daughter. 82 year old and he is still up 30ft laders cutting a tree done. :D good man.

You don't pay tax on lottery wins.

The reason for the "normally" clause is that you could potentially get lumbered for tax if you win as part of a syndicate. In this case the win is paid to the syndicate organiser and passed onwards to the other members. If the organiser dies within 7 years the other syndicate members could be liable for inheritance tax as the "gifts" could be regarded as potentially exempt transfers. I'd not like to be the Chancellor that tried that one though...

This is all "apparently" though.

LOL this thread is funny. Blokes getting upset about having to pay tax on thir Euromillions win (even though they only have a 76m-1 odd of winning in the first place).

I have to pay tax on my winnings!!!? wtf!

The answer is no. It is a one off prize and thus would not be taxed for CGT, income tax etc. The money also comes from a charity so I think that has tax implications. You might have to pay tax (or the receiver will) if youygive someone money if it is over the yearly allowance of that individual. As for inheritance tax you have to die first so who cares?

I'd also like to calm you all down and suggest that if you had 95m many tax free havens would be happy to look after your money (and I'm sure many big banks could arrange this for you).

Dammit. Note to self, never post messages in morning before coffee consumption

I'm a man of my word, here are the winning numbers:

04 27 28 34 44 01 03

will so laugh if you win tonight. Just to confirm is it £10,000 for every member at the time of winning or by the time you announce it on the board? (in which case all my family are signing up to this board 2 min after u win the lottery)
