turbonut
A 'junk' email but intriguing all the same..... Have you locked your keys in the car? Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a mobile phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your cell phone. Hold your mobile phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk). Anyone ever tried this?? and, no, I'm not going to lock my keys in the car just to try it out! Lxx

AndrewOW
Can I ask first if the locked car is on a treadmill at all?! Anyway, I don't know if that would work, but I will try it at some point, but without locking my keys in the car as that wouldn't be necessary. As long as the key fob thats used is well out of its normal working range, then I'll see if it works. Doubtful though, as radio frequencies would change through the phone etc.
ivan
That's been doing the rounds for quite a while - but still doesn't work.

Al Massey
Doubtful though, as radio frequencies would change through the phone etc. radio frequencies never change and will not change through a phone, other noises and frequencies will be added to the radio waves and the phone speaker will not be able to create the desired freq
marcAB10
everyone probabally knows this but if you hold your fob against your head then it will unlock/lock your car from a greater distance but i don't think the phone thing would work..
