Steve W
without trolling thru the posts . . . Have they offered you a buy-back-scrap value yet ? [or rather, have you enquired !] I'd buy it back and drive it as it IS ! ! ! Whatever the value, it's STILL a TT Perhaps I'LL buy it OFF you for the 'SCRAP' Steve-ARTHURDALEY-W
R Black
Defo buy it back fella, i recently saw a Supra in traffic and lets just say i'd much rather be in yours, also it looks as though "that" insurance quote is Very steep.
Scooter
Had the insurance information through today,QUOTE "The vehicle is beyond economical repair, the salvage will be removed and will be disposed of as soon as possible" END QUOTE does anyone know if an insurance company can legally make sure you don't keep your car. If it was mine i'd really want to keep it so where would i stand?
hondaboy
Good luck with the insurance, if you kill the people that did it and i'm on the jury that day, i'll let you off!
Steve W
i THINK if they 'write it off' they effectively 'buy' the whole car off you . . . it becomes THEIR property ?!? You have to ASK to buy back the scrap vehicle. AND i think SOME companies now WON'T sell it back to the owner ??? they prefer to pass it to their own disposal company ?? If you mean can they MAKE you 'write it off', well i know years ago you could argue that you wanted your car REPAIRED, and i know sometimes they eventually WOULD. [not sure if they HAVE to or not though ?] . . . . . .MAYBE ?
mr keef
thinners will get it off if its paint,it will only really upset the paint underneath if it aint original, try 2k thinners, then you can wet flat the car with say 1200 with some soap and then machine polish up,well thats what i would do. carl0s
Despicable. You sure you've not upset any females? Must get camera up before my car comes back from the bodyshop. Over three weeks for a rear bumper so far!! Sorry to see your car like that. At least you could get one that's not red this time though

Keith C
Call Gary at Refined Reflections (http://www.refinedreflections.co.uk/) He knows lots and lots about paint, and would possibly be able to clean it up for not much more than your excess. Hey may not, but what have you got to lose?
JamieP
Yes, yes, ok, ok, but how much is it!! I tried that yesterday via pm but his insurance company is taking the car today:(
r1george
Cheers Lads for all the comments, The Insurance are now picking it up Mon/Tues. To be honest letting the insurance have it has turned out to be the cheaper option, They've offered me a decent payout even after the excess was taken off and I'd be gutted if I'd had it back and repaired and the to**ers who did came back and did it again. I'm going for a less obvious target next but it's been a great car to own for nearly 4 years!!! I'm still going to stay on the scene but only from the outside:( The wife has taken it personnel and want the house securing like Fort Knox with CCTV, floodlights etc. Anyway thanks again for all the comments. Cheers
keancy
It's a real shame that some Yobs have taken the decision to get rid of the Supra out of your hands. Stupid people in this world honestly. Good luck with whatever you get next tho.
