CJ
All joking aside, my original point was to try and curb the idiots from proclaiming that England were "back" and that they were now going to go on and win the World Cup As a non English person, there is nothing more grating than to read the unjustified media hype whenever England play in a major competition. When you then add the blinkered, idiotic, chavtastic, xenophobic fans (minority I know but just as grating) you have the real reason why other countries don't want you to do well. Of course, just MHO.

CJ
Blinkered, idiotic, etc, etc? Bit rich coming from a Leeds fan. I know. It is the effect of being joined by 25k+ fans at home games. Obviously, you wont be suffering from those symptoms

Bobbeh
slagging off players from teams mate. I only see England v Switzerland, I don't see Man utd, Chelsea, newcastle or anyone else, yes there are players who ply their trade at these clubs but I am watching ENGLAND..... My point was being players from Man U, the best team in the league pretty much at this point in time, I thought they'd play better, Brown looks way too nervy and gave the ball away a lot, I'm not slagging them off I'm stating what I saw. Sheefa
Great atsmosphere last night at Wembley and an attendance of 89,000 people. Not a bad game, much better 2nd half. We had brilliant VIP Club Wembley seats.

Tom S
Bob, they should, but if mistakes are made they are ENGLISH, it is the national squad and they have to learn to play at the highest level together. It is a mare, all I ask is that you remember it is English Players playing for their national team;)
Bobbeh
I think you're way too sympathetic mate. Fear not, I understand I wasn't watching Man U playing last night I see what you're getting at, but these are people playing the sport day in day out, the amount of times Brown gave the ball away, it wasn't because of his teammates or the fact he was playing for England, its basic poor passing technique. Confidence also plays a part, and yeah the more time the team have together that will improve.
light-r
congratulations on your win. i wish you luck in the future. maybe an italian manager is the thing england needs, i dont know. the "almighty" portuguese team took 3-1 in the butt from a team that went 4 times to portuguese area and scored 3 times. that´s efficiency. i believe that england is a good team, but IMHO it was better 4 years ago. lets see what the future brings
