SilverMachine
1970 Red Triumph Herald Convertible - XDM 670H Within a year I had replaced the engine for a straight 6 cylinder 2L Vitesse. This car could turn on a sixpence, no need to ever do a 3-point-turn! Sold it in '88 when I was working in London. I wonder where it is now? CJ
It was 1975 (yes, I am an old git) and my dad gave me his 1968 MK1 1100cc Ford escort. It was my pride and joy until I got rid of it part ex for a Triumph GT6 (2 litre strauight six) which then began my love of sports cars
Alex
You've only ever had 4 cars? I'm only 25 and I've never (oh god that's done it) had a crash. Had the rover for 3 years (my probation before stepping upto real cars) And I was without a car at all from June 2003 to Aug 2004. So yes 4 cars - but I've driven lots more

Now bare in mind that im 6` 3" weight 19 stone and have played rugby since i was 7 (now 22), you can imagine how rediculous i looked it that thing. Was a nice shade of purple in colour though. Does that redeem me. I do have a picture of me next to it that was gonna post but couldnt bring myself to do it. Gaz

Chris Wilson
My first car that i actually owned was a 1300 Van den Plas (Flashed up Austin 1300). I then bought a lea Francis 14 Light saloon (made in 1951). i was *SO* pleased to get 100 MPH out of it down the dip in the Chester Road just before Sandiway.... I kept that some time, then I think I bought another 1300 Van den Plas and souped the engine. Shortly after the futility of FWD cars became apparent and I went through my "sideways everywhere" period, had several accidents, some memorable, some totally crass. By that stage racing beckoned so all my time and money went into trying to kill myself at an early age!
terribleturner
My first car was an A reg Austin Montego that i bought for £60, did it up and sold it after 4/5 months for £240. Then with that moved on to a Nova, Astra and the list could go on. First car i drove was a BMW when i was about 11 or 12.

MARTIN R
1st car was a Renualt Clio. My most reliable car except for the supe was a Seat Ibiza The worst was a Ford Laser which literally fell to bits on my trip around australia, It also came with an ants nest in the boot. ( I think they kept the car from falling to bits )
