far Posted February 5, 2008 Share Posted February 5, 2008 Long post but worth a read 1) Getting off the train at East Croydon to change onto the VIctoria train, automatic doors are not open but I am facing the door awaiting the doors to open, young lad in a suit pushes me, I say 'im getting off the train too, no need to push mate' the lad says 'FCUK off im not pushing' train doors start to open, he pushes again ' I say stop pushing and behave' young lad says 'Fcuk you' I think nothing of it as its a typical Londener and not wanting to get in a wrestling match in my pin stripe I walk away. People look at young lad in disappointment. 10am, I am interviewing some junior temps for database mining work in my company - guess who turns up:d Yup you guessed it! 2) I later get in a black cab on the way to see a customer, the cabby says 'is that your phone ringing' I say 'no I thought it was yours' he says 'no its not mine' - I look around on the seat and I'm sat on a blackberry. I answer it and explain I was the next guy to get in the cab and give the blackberry owner my mobile number and ask him to call me in about 90 minutes as I work in Victoria and he can come to my business and pick it up. I finish my meeting and am walking down a street in W2 looking to wave down a cab and the blackberry guy calls me (from his other mobile) , I tell him i'm on the was back to VIctoria - he arranges to meet me there as he is in the area already - I meet up, give him his blackberry - just chatting, he asks where have I just come from, I say 'Romtrac' over in W2 - turns out he works for them in that exact office! i.e. The taxi that took him to Victoria (where I work) was the same taxi that took me to where he works, and in the taxi was his mobile phone! I also happened to be visiting his company! far Posted February 5, 2008 Author Share Posted February 5, 2008 wow - now thats crazy but just a coincidence that we both thought the same thing Dan - I simply explained to the lad that the company didnt tolerate aggression and gave him 5 minutes to explain why I should consider him for the job. Well got home fine, it started rissing with pain when I got out of the station and I got drenched, but that happens fairly regularly.
