cheekymonkey
About to fit my new injectors but I'm missing the o-rings that sit at the back - circled on the originals. Do I have to get new ones or can I re-use the originals? I might have lost a couple of them you see... Anyone have stock?
TLicense
The ones you've lost, need replacing. They cost pence so I would just get a complete new set. Safest bet is to try and get them from Toyota so that you know you're getting ones made from the right material.
Tricky-Ricky
I found that the injectors i put in where slightly shorter than the originals, so i used some good quality grommets, works fine as there only a packing between the holder and the injector. I just got a quote for the little insulators - indeed they cost pence - 522 pence EACH. That's over £30 for a set of 6 tiny rubber grommets. What are Toyota playing at
TLicense
£30 or flames engulfing the car..... hmmmm I did a list of the types of rubber you could use for fuel o'rings. If you get the wrong ones, they'll probably not leak now, or even in a weeks time. It'll be as you're cruising along the motorway not expecting it when one will finally let go and you'll end up with a petrol fountain underneath the bonnet. Wherever you get them from just make sure they're good for the type of fuel you'll be using.
cheekymonkey
I thought these little o-rings at the back aren't even in the fuel path? They just butt up against the retainers to stop vibration?

Correct, Tony is refering to the larger ones that seal the injector to the rail. The ones on the top are just anti vibration buffers. Fargo
Mr Monkey, any chance you could help me out, could you measure the space wher the O Ring sits on the injector as it may prove suitable for me, ( http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=139732)
cheekymonkey
Hi mate I just had a look but without measuring it's certainly a lot less than 12mm/10mm so probably not good for you, sorry!
