right im in bit of a pickle. bought a new number plate today, the sorta typical jap square sorta one. so i went to take off my, well, massive one which was on there only to find a hole the other side the same size as my new number plate. so due to this there arent any easily accessable fixing points. i cant put my massive one back on cos it is now in 2 pieces. anybody got any ideas what i can do to solve this huge dillema and somehow get my dumpy jap plate on???

theres nothing to stick the double sided tape to, theres just a void in the bumper.

My great big hole had a couple of mounting points in the middle of it.

Are you sure yours doesn't?

yeah mine does. i was thinking how could i utilise these but to no avail
You drill corresponding holes in the number plate mate. :D

I knew that, i was talking about the rear plate :)

Rob, I think he was replying to Andy:

Are you missing this mount. I think it's a standard piece on imports. Measures 340mm wide which agrees with the import sizes quoted on the plates suppliers. :)

If I recall correctly there should be a mounting bracket on the upper section of the aperture.

I bolted a piece of 4mm aluminium plate (a little smaller than the number plate) to this with countersink machine bolts and then stuck my plate to this. This method has the advantage of not sticking anything to the bumper itself and so protecting the paintwork.

But you could also bolt the number plate directly to the mounting bracket.
