Jake
Checked my bank statement today and saw that Virgin (NTL as was) are now charging me £24/month for my broadband instead of the £17.99 it used to be. I rang them to complain but they said my 1 year introductory discount had now finished. So I said in that case cancel my broadband. They put me through to a nice lady in Cancellations who said she would switch us to 20 MB broadband for the same cost as 4 meg! She also said that in June they are upgrading the 20mb service to 50mb for the same price. PORNTASTIC!! /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_grin.gif

Whitesupraboy2
everywhere is like this...give them a bit of a push and they'd rather take the money then lose it to the competitors.

ivan
Nice one Jake. I was looking at getting mine upgraded last night 'cos I'm paying £25 for 4Mb. But because I'm an existing customer their offers don't apply. I think I might try your trick - last time they knocked £9 off my phone bill because I wasn't on a "bundle deal" even though I had two services. ShamelessTT
Simon Duffy, CEO of NTL, commented: "I am confident Virgin.net will accelerate our growth by giving us access to new market segments, thereby complementing our strategy of extending our network though local loop unbundling." TRANSLATION : "My game plan is to get as many users onto our service and i couldnt give a F*c* if the service degrades for existing customers, so talk to my hand. By aqquiring Virgin.Net, we now also appeal to a certain type of friendly bearded man, which should increase our popularity." http://msnbcmedia1.msn.com/j/msnbc/Components/Photos/051102/051102_branson_vmed_2p.widec.jpg

Just phone up and tell them you're going to switch to sky and they will match whatever skys best offer is. Get some prices from the newspaper first. They dropped £25 off my package deal last year. Jezz
I would rather insert AA batterys into my japseye than deal with Virgin media again. The worst company by far i've ever had the pleasure of dealing with.
