Ark
Makes sense. After all, Toyoya do own Subaru. The Celica has a long rally heritage, and the GT4 was always the premium offering - why re-invent the wheel when you can re-badge a car from a brand you own? GM says the partnership did not result in enough collaboration to justify the cost so it’s taking it’s money to invest somewhere else. Of the 20% stake on the market now, Toyota confirmed it will buy up 8.7% which is 68 million shares. General Motors will sell the remaining 11.3% either back to Fuji Heavy Industries or put it on the open market."
tDR
A crying shame IMO. The ST205 engine and box are better engineered than the equivalent Scooby do offerings and with evolution could be even better / stronger.

Thorin
They could have at least stuck a decent engine in it rather than some crappy piston slapping 4 banger.
SMiFFAD
This is apparently what its going to look like..... Anyone thinking "mondeo" when they look at the rear? http://www.dieselstation.com/uploader/files/658_52beg/toyota-subaru2.jpg http://www.dieselstation.com/uploader/files/657_1iiuu/toyota-subaru1.jpg

MrDriver
Doesn't look good But I like the idea of rwd and 4x4. It has potential. - P -
Dr_Doom
Looks really boring IMO... I'm sure the GT4 will be beefed up a bit but definitely a Mondeo rear end!
tbourner
Good, the current Celica is pants IMO, it's got the clunky annoying gearbox and cramped cabin of a sports car but none of the go!! Hyundai have sorted themselves out and beefed up their 'sportscar' Coupe, now coming in correct-wheel-drive. About time Toyota made their own sporty coupe a bit more sporty!
