Gazboy
Daryl, don't eff about with a LT1 or 350ci- has to be an LS or a HEMI!

I'll take the lot - it's all needed. Thanks again Wez Daryl, don't eff about with a LT1 or 350ci- has to be an LS or a HEMI! Budget is a big factor in the (as yet undecided) engine choice. Something like an old school but fully build LT is going to cost £2k, whereas an LS1 will be £5-6k. Hemi, you don't even want to know what those cost A modded old school motor is much more poweful than an LS, has greater scope for modifying and costs far less. On the down side it is heavier and will have appauling fuel economy
Pig
Could you fit a viper engine it? They seem quite tunable.

RedM
Unless I'm getting it way wrong I'm pretty sure you can get a Lingenfelter LS7 for $7000 which, given the exchange rate, seems pretty reasonable. However, I think the point I'm missing is that it may not be the full engine!
Gazboy
An old school small block on a four barrel carb, lumpy cam and unsilenced pipes would be awesome.

An LS7 alone costs upwards of $10k 2nd hand, I epxect the $7k is for the Lingenfelter conversion rather than a complete motor. Either way, it's too expensive especially after delivery from the US and the dreaded tax. The last quote I got for a delivered stock LS7 worked out at just over £10k Thats for a stock 2nd hand one with no gearbox, ECU, etc

I can't imagine a fully dressed ready to spark LS7 being had for less than £15k

Homer
Something like this? Click-Me Thats generally the idea, but with more power. SC and ~500ib/ft is the ultimate aim, but that won't be this year.
