Guest dangerousandy
Avoid the BMW 850 at all costs!! the V12 is a fkn nightmare!! worse than the Jag V12. The 840 V8's did suffer from Nikasil problems........ Get the Audi!!! or a Lexus!

JamieP
that s8 is lovely! what is nikasil? Bores, some had problems if they was not run in right iirc.
michael
The older S8's can be had for very reasonable money now, a heck of a lot of car for very little - crap gearbox on them though.

Guest dangerousandy
Bores, some had problems if they was not run in right iirc. Jamies right.....Nikasil was used to line the bores of the alloy blocks - same as the jaguar AJ-V8 and the Porsche 928 - and if fuel was used with a high sulpher content, or the car did lots of short start stop journeys, the bores would wear prematurely and you would end up with no compression and excessive oil consumption!
