Running in your biker leathers

Today I entered a 4.2 mile charity race wearing my Dainese biker leathers and a Shark RSR2 helmet. I left the boots at home cos they'd be smashed to bits. It was two laps of Cheltenham suburbia and after 1.5 miles I was in big trouble and called it a day at the end of the first lap. It wasn't the weight. It was not being able to breath with a full face lid and the sweat, sh1t and p1ss which was soaking the leather was making it harder to swing my arms and legs. In the end I was doing the spotted dog walk. The time was 18 mins for one lap. Last year I ran the two laps in 26 mins. Everybody thought I was a loon. They were right.

I made a similar error of judgement once and turned up to a fancy dress event in a wet suit....after about 15-20 mins I was almost passing out with the heat and had to go home!

Doh!

Wet suit!!! Fair play, M8. Even though it was a howling gale and only 4 deg C, I was overheating big time on the start line. When the wind was in my face I could breathe but it was like running in thick syrup. When it was behind me, I couldn't breathe and it was like running in thin syrup. Funnily enough I was pubbing n clubbing the night before. There was a bunch of guys in fancy dress. One bloke came as the Stig in full race overalls and white helmet. He was sweating like a pig.
