johnd-mkiv
Im looking into fitting a set of HKS cams what duration would you say will work best with a Powerhouse racing stage 1 turbo kit GT60 thanks
Wez
What do you want from it? I have HKS 264/264 setup and gained 50hp up top but lost some low down punch, even then Ryan lowered my boost at low speed to get traction as there is still plenty. gaz1
256/264 or 264/264 the choice is yours, but end of the day it depends what you want from your set up, whatever you choose you will still be behind me at marham:p

Probs the same mate dont really want all the power low down as there will be traction problems, im sure i read some where might have been one of your posts, about using a slightly larger exhaust cam
Wez
CW did mention that my setup could prob benefit from a larger intake not exhaust, how this would affect the powerband I dont know.

Alex
I'd go with the same as Wez, 264/264's.
Pig
I'd go with the same as Wez, 264/264's. Thats what i run and am very pleased with the setup
rob wild
Totally agree with the above. 264/264 with a PHR S1 works very well and pulls really well from low down plus i think my BL box is compensating for any lag that would be there TBH
johnd-mkiv
I take it they will need to be shimmed to suit when fitting?

I would go with Wez's setup, often a little overlap is best on a high performance turbo engine, UK cams might be worth a look if you can pick up a set
tucky40
just bought some jun cams for my bpu.....they are 256/264 but they are higher lift than the hks cams.......would be interesting to see how they differ if at all. hks 256= 8.7mm Jun 256= 9.3mm hks264=9.0mm jun264=9.3mm The price was very similar to the hks through nic and the availability was much better on the jun cams. Just another possibility John. Ben

Thanks Ben The HKS cams are usually in stock in Japan, just happened to be out of stock when I placed your order.

Wez
When HKS tested the cams themselves they only paired the same duration together, ie 264/264 and 272/272, I wonder why they didnt test staggered.
