boombastictiger
Hello I will be going on holiday soon for about a month, should i disconnect the battery from the supra or leave it connected? I have an Alarm/Immob which i guess is using power from the battery.. Any tips?

boombastictiger
Leave the battery connected? will it not kill the battery?
drnas78
it may drain out and when it starts to loose power the alarm will start playing up as alarms have internal battery which charges of car battery
AndrewOW
Sorry I was just messing about, but if you leave it connected it will drain over time, but if you disconnect it then the performance of the alarm/immobiliser may be compromised. Then again what do I know!

Guest themanager30
Why not use a solar trickle charger, just plugs into the cigar socket and keeps the battery topped up. Cost about 15 squid.
Steve
Why not use a solar trickle charger, just plugs into the cigar socket and keeps the battery topped up. Cost about 15 squid. If its not locked in a garage that would work. Personally i would buy a Optimate Trickle charger. They can be left on for months at a time. R Black
I used a solar trickle charger for a 3 week holiday but my alarm kept going off, never had before never has since. Anyway as for you, if your car is secure just disconnect the battery.
Steve
lets just say i disconnect the battery....come back after a month and plug it in, what will happan? It will work fine. You will have to let the ECU relearn itself and set the clock
boombastictiger
It will work fine. You will have to let the ECU relearn itself and set the clock umm, i dont mean to be dumb but when u say let the ecu re learn itself, thats basically going to be done without me doing anything other than driving right?, and i take it the clock you mean as in the time clock in the car ? SteveL
As long as the battery is healthy just leave it locked. ( use the door lock to lock ) I left mine for 5 weeks recently and it started first time and no alarm problems.

drnas78
ive got 950 mate like i said best part of a year being diconnected , only think happens is there is no noise from alarm siren for a do or so as it takes bit of ime to charge up from main battery, also if you have dual zone warning bllep they may get bit out but they can be reset via remote as far as i no... you may need to disaerm alarm first via fob then remove battery as will play up until siren power dies out , howver may be able to do it after battery is out

Unless i leave the battery connected and just lock the car with the keys..the immob would still on but not the alarm..
