Dave F
When me fiesta's insurance was due for renewal last year I was quoted £251 through sky on a mirror policy, slightly dearer than the previous year which I was none to pleased about. I changed to elephant who got me the same cover for nearly £100 less. I have just received my renewal from Sky for the supra and it has come in at £676. (n/a, 9 years no claims, 33 year old and no points) I thought this was pretty bad so tried elephant who quoted me £450. My question is has anybody had problems with elephant, and am I wrong to be moaning about £676.
jamesmark
The only thing going with Elephant is they will not cover mods if damaged or stolen, Sky will. So if you have no aftermarket stuff on your car that are not of very much value then go with Elephant. Not heard if they are any good on payouts, but I imagine they ain't, what insurance company is? stupra
Alright Dave, it's a big differance in price mate. Have you tried A-Plan ?, they were the cheapest for me again this year.
Homer
Avoid elephant if you can, they are absolutely useless when it comes to ANY modification on your car. I had a long fight with them after an accident and gave up in the end. Utterly, utterly hopeless. They are cheap, but thats for a reason. Sky on the other hand have proved themselves pretty good sorting out claims, though they dropped the ball for one person on here.

Going to try A plan tomorrow as I still think £676 is a pretty poor quote. Have you recovered after the Scotch and Americans yet:)

I dont mind paying good money for good service but like everyone else, I suppose, I don't want to be taken for a ride.
stupra
Have you recovered after the Scotch and Americans yet:) , Yeah, I didn't have any prob's, thought I might have in the morning, but I didn't. It was a good night mate. With A-Plan I pay under £500 full comp + protected no claim's and legal cover, all cosmetic and performance mod's declared. SimonB
Get a price from A plan and then phone Sky and tell them how much if it's any cheaper. You'll probably find they will match it. In my experience insurance companies always try and stiff you on renewal - they figure you just won't be arsed to phone around.
