Millsy
Interesting. Got a quote for £1850 plus VAT for an LPG conversion on the Supra. Makes you wonder how quickly you'd save that money if you're using the car daily! Seemed like a reasonable price though.
couv3z
so how much will it damage the performance of the supra?
Gaz6002
so how much will it damage the performance of the supra? It won't. It might even improve it.
jamesmark
Thats a pretty good quote, is it from an actual Government registered LPG specialist? I take that was on N/A? Lucifer that used to own Mkivsupra.net done this to N/A's and advised there was no difference iirc
Dr_Doom
Havards got it fitted on his too. Not sure how much he's used it though!
bolarbag
At a very low consumption of 60 quid a week, your looking at well over a year, you have the initial investment plus the gas for the time your waiting for it to make a return, then you have a supra that will apeal to a very small market and presumably a lower resale value...and then a downgrade in performance...why not just sell? Petrols pissing me off too...and my car aint even on the road yet, but that would be a drastic move Do the governement give you lower tax? How much is Gas per litre(whatever gas unit they measure it in?) What would be the miles per 3.80?
Whitesupraboy2
It won't. It might even improve it. Correct it does. there is a guy that DB knows and I met at JAE this year with a TT aristo running LPG and he has no problems running it or tuning it. He does fit them fora living though so knew what he was doing
Millsy
It was for a certified system, and they state any changes in performance will be irrelevant. I don't know whether it would decrease the value or increase the value of the car having it fitted?
Millsy
And the quote was for a twin turbo
Ark
Lucifer that used to own Mkivsupra.net done this to N/A's and advised there was no difference iirc Yeah but nobody ever saw that car or the supposed dyno sheet he had done on it. Probably more of his hot air.

Carl_S
I was quoted about 1500 quid for a supra TT on lpg. Great company. I had it fitted on my skyline, and the power was amazing. But its a smelly fuel, and like has been mentioned you need it to heat up on petrol first before it switches. Good for those that do motorway miles regularly in the supe.
