Another story that makes me want to leave the UK

Vicki told me an interesting one last night.

Her work colleague and fella were driving near Stafford when they came across three cars ahead of them. They promptly formed a formation three a breadth and slowed down not allowing them to pass.

They weren't going to be stopped by them, so pulled into a side street which these cars then turned around and followed them down.

After this it all became more erratic with them over taking, trying to force them to stop, following up other roads which they were taking to try and shake them off, but they kept coming.

She rang the police who said to try and make it to the nearest station and don't stop. Apparently it's happened before but not for a while.

Needless to say that is easier said than done.

Eventually they had to stop or hit them and two guys got out the car shouting "I'm gonna kill you" and trying to get into the car. At this point they had an opportunity to drive off in a panic and lose them.

What kind of a f*cked up society do we live in?

Hang about! What have the Labour govt. got to do with three nutters? I don't remember the tree-abreast nutter bill going through Parliament.

People like this existed long before now and will exist for long after.

You may as well blame it on Gangsta rap for all the good it will do.

We've got to blame someone!! We wouldn't be British otherwise.

I didn't realise you were such a devoted follower of the Labour party, I'm sorry if I caused you any grief with my slanderous comment. It does explain a few things though :)

Gangsta rap is always to blame - maybe I fancied some variation.

I'm no fan of any govt. They are all to lily-livered and/or corrupt for my liking. I was just making the point that blaming them is pointless. That type of behaviour isn't taught, it's learned. We need to find out why these people act like that and attack the source.

Maybe it's:

a) we can't stop them

b) the police can't stop them

c) if we try and stop them we are sent down forever

d) if the police stop them they get a slap on the wrist and sue for compensation

e) they know all this

Of course, some people on here would rather die smiling then be able to defend themselves against a gang of nutters so I guess that doesn't help much.

Lack of respect for the law and their peers from the namby pamby way we treat miscreants from a tender age through to apprehended criminals.

I blame lawyers. Those people who have facilitated the suing of police officers for doing their jobs, school teachers for teaching respect, parents from teaching at a young age what is no acceptable behaviour, the average Joe for protecting their own property.

All people who have their hands tied leading to poor teachings of self respect, respect of others and generally being a good human being.

Everyone is now too afraid to do anything about the problems faced from the scourge of society for fear of the recompense.

You don't get this kind of attitude in Greece. People out there enjoy each others company, they help each other, they are taught early on that bad behaviour is not accepted.

Everyone here is always so angry and miserable all the time, it's making this country a right hole to live in.

Agreed - although I think that dumbing down the school system in typical Labour style will effect more of these types to create similar situations.

Fair enough blaming the government isn't going to solve the issue, but they are the only organisation with the power to make changes and I'm finding it harder and harder to have faith in their ability to do so. Just because there isn't a better party to vote for doesn't mean we can't emphasise the shortcomings of the present one.

:yeahthat:

I blame the weather and location of the country for that though.

If we were several hundred miles south, enjoying 300+ days a year sunshine, warm sandy beaches etc we'd all be a lot happier :p

My 10 year plan is in motion...

It was funny watching the Greeks wrapping up in scarfs and big coats whilst I strolled around in my TShirt grinning like an idiot because I could feel the sun. :D

Oddly enough, this sort of thing while it is unnerving for most, I've gone through this a few times in South Africa when I was hijacked and this MO isn't new. (Very weird saying that)

The difference is (rightly or wrongly) in South Africa people are armed, and people are aware of this, so you don't play silly buggers.

This country has been influenced by the namby pamby do-gooder xtian brigade for far too long. Parents nowadays aren't allowed to discipline their children and tbh, I don't think half of them would know how to anyway having grown up themselves without any form of order.

Teachers need to be given back the ability to control their classes, criminals should be treated as such and their victims need to feel that justice is on their side.

This country is heading towards a serious upheaval, as I really don't think this sh*t can go on for much longer. Too many 'average' people are being disillusioned and something has to give. It's probably not going to be pretty either.

Separate the ch*rch from the state, abolish the pc human rights bol*locks and make people accept culpability for their actions. I don't necessarily condone capital punishment, but the justice system is a joke and needs both tightening up and seen to be showing a degree of uniformity in sentencing.

Vote for me - I'd be a mean b@stard, but you'd know where you stand.
