Lukeyboy2k
That's what some of us said about Maccarone Maccarone had huge potential. Injuries, lack of selection etc, etc. Just when he starts playing, (and playing well IMO) he got sold. (Or was it a free transfer??) Especially with the exodus of Vid and Yak, he should've been kept. Aliadiere and Sanli seem to be playing with stamina, skill and dedication - they just can't seem to finish.
Jake
What about Pompey getting Defoe then? I'm happy with that. We need a decent striker. Hopefully he'll do the business for us.

An interesting signing. Benjani was supposed to be going to Man City but he didn't turn up on time or something so the deal fell through. I bet Defoe thought he was going to be top dog. It should be good to see him getting a better run out though. Harry seems to be good at unleashing the potential of "forgotten" players in the last few years. Harry seems to be good at unleashing the potential of "forgotten" players in the last few years. I'm glad Benjani didn't make it to City in time. Him and Defoe might make a good partnership. Compared to the £7m pompey wasted on David Nugent, Defoe was a bargain. I think Defoe will still be top dog anyway. He's more of a natural goalscorer than Benjani will ever be. Don't get me wrong, we all love Benjani, because he works so hard, but Defoe will score us more goals.
