CJ
I was just sent this as an email. Now before the race relations committee jump all over me, I didn't post this to say I believed it was a good idea (in fact I don't) but more to say how worrying it is that there are people in the UK who now feel so bad as to want to email something like this. How much longer before this apparent discontent becomes even more inflamed? Are we heading for violent clashes? The British Solution to Save Petrol Brown wants us to cut the amount of petrol we use...... The best way to stop using so much petrol is to deport 3 million illegal immigrants! That would be 3 million less people using our petrol. The price of petrol would come down..... Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the Channel.... When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the Channel, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq .... Tell him if he wants to come to Britain then he must serve a tour in the military.... Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it..... After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country..... He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal resident..... . This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.. ..... If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo..... Problem solved..... If you think this is a good solution to both the problems, forward it to your friends. ......... I just did.........

jamesmark
Made me chuckle, but on how stupid the email is and the person that wrote it. We all know me have a serious problem with illegal immigrants but stupidity like what is shown in that email is just not needed.
Havard
Ohh sh*t I feel a race war coming It's not a race war though is it. It's a coming to this country without any skills or business plans and treating like a free bank/hotel...... I have always argued that this is not race related, I have nothing against individuals whether they are black, pink, blue or whatever. We as a nation cannot keep taking people in who do not put back into society and bleed the NHS and benefits system dry!! The damage has already been done in the past few years so bleating about it now is going to change fook all unfortunately!! H.
Multics
I'm sure (I hope) that this does not represent the country's public opinion. There are immigration issues in all European countries. The guy has absolutely no clue of what it going on around him, he must be living a very sad life.

It must've taken ages for the person that plagiarised all that from the original American/Bush/Gas text to reword that lot!

CJ
In Greece? Surely not! You may be surprised to learn that even here "we" have discontentment with Albanian immigrants
CJ
Don't be so sure, many issues down there too, unfortunately. You say unfortunately? As in it is unfortunate that there is an immigration control problem or that it is unfortunate that the Greek people think there is a problem? far
The best way to stop using so much petrol is to deport 3 million illegal immigrants! That would be 3 million less people using our petrol. The price of petrol would come down..... That is flawed for a start, in commercial terms the less something is used in terms of volume the more expensive it gets! Buying in bulk & all that The rest of it I agree with :p/not
Multics
You say unfortunately? As in it is unfortunate that there is an immigration control problem or that it is unfortunate that the Greek people think there is a problem? The fact is that Greece has an immigation problem since a long time and it's getting worse every year. Big part of the blame goes of course to the incompetent government but to be honnest things are very different down there compared to here. Non-EU immigrants have much less rights and much less chances to make a good living compared to the ones in the UK, IMO. By the way I'm speaking as a Greek expat living in England
colsoop
Positive migration is a good thing we need skilled workers or people prepared to work and integrate. Illegal immigrants travelling the length of europe and beyond bypassing all other European countries to get to this little island we don't need. However, for whatever reason, it still not not stop the migration.

However, for whatever reason, it still not not stop the migration. Geia sou file I know but there's a lot of work to be done. I think we should also look at the other side of the coin as well. Some of these immigrants sometimes pay thousands of euros to get passed from one country to another under dreadful conditions hoping to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes we should just stop and think how lucky we are and not jump to quick conclusions. Immigration is a massive issue for decenies and no gevernment in any country, in any continent has it right. Just my two drachmas.

ivan
My missus has been watching some program about folks emigrating to Australia. Seems they've got the right idea about who they let in. One couple who were well qualified still took 15 months to get a visa...
