Chris Wilson
If someone wants to sell / donate a scrap core I can maybe get replacements made for a worthwhile amount less than the OE units.

dangerous brain
Jez can do one in 3 hours. What pull out the dash, remove the matrix (without peeing coolant everywhere), fit the new matrix, and refit the dash without breaking anything in 3 hours?? Thats an achievement and a half. madmunky
I would have thought it was easy to do in a day, so time wise im not worried. I could do with mine pretty soon though as at the moment mine matrix is bypassed and the cold morning are a right PITA when i need to use the car

dangerous brain
You want to be careful by-passing it. There are some schools of thought that believe that by-passing it can nadge your head gasket.

Nic
You want to be careful by-passing it. There are some schools of thought that believe that by-passing it can nadge your head gasket. Mine's been by-passed for around 6 years without problem. 95% of the year I don't need a heater anyway, although it's blooming cold here at the moment at 8 degree.... bbbrrrr. I can supply a brand new heater matrix for just over £200 including postage, if anyone wants details drop me a pm.
dangerous brain
Mine's been by-passed for around 6 years without problem. How has that been by-passed chap? Take a read of this link before just by-passing the matrix by sticking a pipe between the two that go to the matrix. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=111270&highlight=heater+matrix+head+gasket

Jezz
What pull out the dash, remove the matrix (without peeing coolant everywhere), fit the new matrix, and refit the dash without breaking anything in 3 hours?? Thats an achievement and a half. Indeed. I must have pulled out 40 Supra matrix in the last 10 years and believe me, the first one I removed took about 3 days! Now I can remove one in an hour or 2, and back together in around the same time. £250 for that if anyone doesnt fancy the mess that comes from removing a dash.
