Thorin
How long is that shiny finish going to last when it's actually used then?
CJ
How long is that shiny finish going to last when it's actually used then? I was thinking that too. Will the heat not destroy that finish?
bolarbag
Were did you get that done? Pm if you like Wont the finish last for as long as he keeps on polishing it as its on the cold side anyhow, the side behind the pic may be a little more prone to deterioration as its closer to the hot side
uk-rich
the cold side of the turbo doesn't get that hot, you wouldn't want to rest your helmet on it though

uk-rich
Is this different to polished then, my PHR tubby was shiney when I got it this was rough cast, like the stock intake manifold, my last turbo was polished (no need to have any elbow grease with chrome) Who said it couldnt?! just a private joke about the lettering chrome or go home (i just made that up, yep piss poor !) colsoop
I don't have any definitve numbers for the actual temperature chrome starts to blue at but it is reasonably high. Rob Ace has a chromed turbo, his has been on a fair old while. Don't forget they chrome motorbike exhausts and i reckon they get very hot. Still think it would be better without the willy waving lettering though
